Great American Scrapbook Convention

I hope you are planning  to stop by the Scrapbooks Plus booth at GASC this weekend.  I designed a cute little Make-N-Take that coordinates with the Monthly Make-N-Take Layout at the store.  Here's a look:

And here it is in the pocket on the calendar page!

Also remember that we are sharing space with Joanna Campbell Slan, the author of the Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Murder Mystery books.  Stop by and get an autographed copy of the latest book or the whole series!

Hope to see you there!

June Make-N-Take at Scrapbooks Plus

Debbie asked me to take over the Monthly Make-N-Takes at Scrapbooks Plus for the summer.  I have fallen in love with the 100 Days of Summer line from Simple Stories so I paired it with a calendar page and created this 2 page layout that you can use to keep track of your summer activities:
Basically, Scrapbooks Plus provides you with the materials to create a free element, in  this case there are 3 elements - these 3 cute tickets:

Once you have made the tickets you may take them to use on a card or layout of your own design, however, Scrapbooks Plus has pulled all the papers you need to re-create my design!  The papers are available for purchase at the front counter.  You are welcome to sit in the crop room and copy the layout right then,or feel free to take a picture to use later. You have the entire month of June so we hope to see you soon!

NOTE:  There is also a very special ticket that will be available exclusively at the Great American Scrapbook Convention this year.  We will be  helping out at Joanna Campbell Slan's table.  Joanna is the author of the Kiki Lowenstien Scrap -N-Craft Murder Mystery books.  She will be happy to sign copies of her books so be sure to stop by!

Butterscotch Loves the SpringTime...

I'm always up for a sketch challenge...this one is from StuckOnUSketches:

Such a lovely sketch...so many elements...I ended up simplifying the background a bit and I replaced the bird in the upper right with another winged element...a pair of butterflies!  Here is my take on it:

Of course I used my Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect to place the rhinestones and pearls along the border strip.  I was also very pleased with how the embossed journal tag turned out.  I used the Perfect Crafting Pouch to make sure the stamped and embossed images were crisp and clean...and then again so I could easily write on top of the embossing! Details and pictures can be found on the ScraPerfect blog.

Stuck On U Sketches has switched to a bi-monthly challenge for the summer months.  Be sure to drop by over there...the talent is HUGE!
