Wedding Layout with Quick Quotes

Today I would like to share a wedding themed layout featuring the Cracklin' Rose collection from Quick Quotes.  The colors and patterns in this collection are so elegant. The black and gray houndstooth reminds me of menswear and keeps the layout from being too feminine.

One of my favorite things about the collections from Quick Quotes is that they contain coordinated word and phrase strips.  The Cracklin' Rose collection is no exception and I found that some of them were perfect for my wedding theme.

The "Cherish these Moments" tab is actually a small journal tag that I trimmed out, inked and tucked behind the picture. "Timeless" and "Memories" were inked, matted and adhered with dimensional adhesive.

I love this sentiment which I found on the Cracklin' Rose Phrase Strip:

I dressed things up a bit with textured ivory flowers and Swirls Finesse Rhinestones from Want2Scrap:

I reached into my washi tape collection and found a couple pieces for the upper right of the layout.  I added Sleek Strip Rhinestones because you can never have too much bling!

Lacrosse Layout with Paper House 3D Stickers

My son only played one season of lacrosse but it was loads of fun!  He was lucky to have a very good coach and play on a team with very talented players.  They won the championship!  I have way too many pictures from that season and  it was time to create a layout so of course I reached for my Paper House supplies!
I started with the Distressed Grass Scrapbook paper - it is a favorite of mine for all of my sports pages!  I cropped my photos and mounted them on black cardstock before arranging them into a collage in the center of the page.  Finally I used the *newly released* Lacrosse 3D stickers to embellish.  Super simple!

Here are some detail shots:

Note:  I always try to vary the shape and orientation of the photos when I create a collage.  I also try to always include at least one close up picture.

Football Layout with Want2Scrap and Paper House

I thought I would share another layout from my son's years in youth football. I combined a laser cut overlay from Want2Scrap with 3D stickers from Paper House and this layout couldn't have been easier to make!

I backed the overlay with Distressed Grass paper from Paper House.  This 3D sticker fit perfectly into one of the openings and provides my page title:

The pictures were cut so that they were slightly smaller than the opening so that the grass paper would show behind them.

I distressed and inked the edges of each of the photos and then started to add 3D stickers from Paper House:

I love the 3 footballs the overlay has running down the right side.  It just took a couple of Paper House stickers to dress them up a bit.

The helmet is actually from the Chalkboard Football sticker set.

I added my sons #37 to the chalkboard sticker in the bottom left using white foam Thickers...and done!

Home Dec with Paper House and Plaid!

One of my favorite things about being on a manufacturer's design team is cross promotions.  This weekend,  Paper House Productions and Plaid are teaming up and I had the opportunity to work with some fun and different products!

For my project, I finally got around to altering a tissue dispenser I had picked up at a yard sale.

When I brought it home, the tissue dispenser was bright pink with an animal print band around the top.  Not my style, but it was solid wood and very sturdy.  I planned to go with a beach theme so I wanted to make it look like weathered wood.  My box from Plaid included several bottles of Multi-Surface Paint and I started with 2 coats of Bark Brown. On top of that I dry brushed a layer of Steel Gray.  I also added a very light layer of dry brushed Wicker White.

When I was happy with the paint job, I reached for a sheet of paper from the Paper House Beach Paper Pad.  It looks like narrow boards of wood with half tone seashells printed on top.  I adhered strips of the paper around the tissue dispenser with Matte Mod Podge, using a foam brush to apply a coat on the back of the paper and on the entire surface of the tissue dispenser.

Next I got to play with a "new to me" product: Mod Melts.  Mod Melts appear very similar to glue sticks.  They are available in a variety of colors: clear, white, glitter, neon, opaque and metallic.  You use a high temp mini-glue gun to melt them and then squeeze them into a variety of very cool silicone molds to create dimensional embellishments.  My very generous box of goodies from Plaid contained the Milk Glass White Mod Melts and the Sea Life Mold.
I waited the recommended 10 minutes before I turned out the molds and the shapes popped right out!  There was a little bit of excess melt on the edges of the shapes.  It was very easy to trim those bits off before I added color with paint and inks.

I used beach themed 3D and Diecut Stickers from Paper House to create a small focal image on each side of the tissue dispenser, mixing in the fabulous Mod Melt embellishments.  I absolutely love the way it turned out!  Here are more pictures of the finished project:

All of the designers at Paper House had the opportunity to play with products from Plaid.  If you head over to the Paper House blog, you will find links to their blogs very favorite thing about cross promotions...

Thanksgiving Layout with Quick Quotes

Hello and welcome! Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving layout featuring the Cracklin' Rose collection from Quick Quotes.

I used a sheet of Cracklin Rose 200 for the background.  I cut a 4" x 11.5" strip of Cracklin' Rose 300  and inked the edge with Java PowderPuff Chalking Ink before adhering it on the right hand side.

The sentiment is from the Quick Quotes Holiday Bundle.  I distressed the edges, inked with Java PowderPuff Chalking Ink, and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.

To create the title block I placed the sentiment on the red strip, adding chipboard elements from the Let's Eat - Bag O' Chips above and below.

Oh Deer! Christmas is Coming!

December is right around the corner so today I am sharing a Christmas themed layout I created for Die-Namites! The photo is the one I included in our annual Christmas letter a few years ago, but I think this layout would be just as darling for a "Visit with Santa" picture, too.

These are the dies I used in my project:

You might not think to reach for a die called Spring Doily when you are working on a Christmas layout, but I think the delicate die cut works perfectly behind the "Be Merry" tag.

Here is a close up of my new favorite die, Bitty North Pole!  I die cut white and brown cardstock and then layered them together before adding Stickles to make that snow glisten!

The paper I worked with is the oh-so-cute Oh Deer! Collection from Fancy Pants Designs. I started the layout with a piece of Wonder paper, then added layers and details from the Brag Cards and Ephemera Pack.  This Library Card holds some hidden journaling and another picture:

The Flair buttons on the layout are from the Fancy Pants Timbergrove Collection from last year.

Baby Shower Mini-Album with Want2Scrap and Paper House

I recently attended a baby shower with the cutest theme - books!    It was all so very clever: the library card invitation, the cake that looked like a stack of children's books, the ABC book the guests created.  I created a mini-album with some of my favorite pictures:

I used 2 papers from Paper House in this project:

I started with a 6"x6" chipboard album from Want2Scrap.  The front of the album is covered with Baby Blocks Scrapbook paper from Paper House Productions.  I used an emory board to smooth the edges then added photos.  The Pink Pearl Nestabling  and the Fancy Chipboard Word on the cover are also from Want2Scrap.

The first set of pages feature the invitation and the cake!  The hostess had created banners for the party by cutting pages out of childrens books.  I took pictures and created a tiny banner in the album!

I used Baby Bling from Want2Scrap between the pennants on the banner.  The cute, glittery castle is from the Little Princess 3D sticker set:

This cute little umbrella is from the Baby Shower 3D sticker set:

The White Pearls Swirls Finesse are so pretty across the bottom:

This set of pages is covered with Birthday Banners Paper...

Sleek Strip Rhinestones dress up the banners I trimmed out of the paper:

The balloons are from the 1st Birthday Girl 3D stickers:

Here are pictures of the rest of the album:
