Mixing in a Little Metal with Quick Quotes

Hello! I am playing with paper dolls again!  I combined papers from the *New* Alton, Antique Garden and Joy Ride Collections from Quick Quotes and created a lovely lady who looks like she is ready for a night on the town!

I absolutely love the starburst effect on this page from the Alton Collection!  I traced a tag over the area I wanted to use and cut it out with a craft knife.  I still have the rest of the paper set aside to use for a future project.  I don't like to waste anything.  As my friend, Long Island Lynne told me at the Private Reserve in York, PA this year, "The Rockefellers aren't making my scrapbook pages!"
I found this sentiment in the Quick Quotes Bundle - Inspire.  I used scissors to turn it into strips and inked the edges with Coconut White PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

I stamped the doll onto a piece from Dusty Road and then paper pieced her outfit.  The hat and shoes are from the Antique Garden Collection, her stockings and ruffles are from the Alton Collection, and the yellow dress is from Joy Ride.

I decided to make this festive young lady a blonde so I pulled out Lemonade PowderPuff Chalking Ink and pressed it onto my craft mat.  After I spritzed it with water, I used a paint brush to add the color.

After she was all dressed up and had her hair done, she had someplace to go - right onto my tag!

Take a closer look and you can see that I outlined the strip journaling with black ink to really make it pop!  I added Stickles and Gun Metal Gray pearls to the dress.

The final bit was this fabulous new item from Quick Quotes:  a Unique Rustic Patina Metal Embellishment!
I added rhinestones in the center of the flower to coordinate with my doll's outfit.
Whew!  Just in time to celebrate New Year's Eve!  Happy 2015!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today! Susie
