Scrap your Graduate with Want2Scrap and Paper House

I was thrilled to find that Want2Scrap has an overlay for Graduation!  Add some themed stickers from Paper House and you can finish this layout in about an hour!
.

The laser cut overlay is black and white which makes it easy to customize with colors from your son's or daughter's school.   This is how it looked before I started:.
I trimmed the overlay down so that it is an 11.5" square and backed the openings with Designer paper before centering it on a piece of gold cardstock. The black cardstock base is great for letting your embellishment clusters *pop* off the page!   I used a mix of flat cardstock stickers and 3D stickers.  I just love dimension!

Here I used one of the openings in the overlay to frame (2) smaller photos and a group of embellishments.

Sometimes I do actually fill the openings with a photograph - like this one of my son receiving his diploma!

The laurel wreath on the left hand side was cut, embossed and stenciled with a die from Spellbinders.

The final touch was a black rhinestone Swirls Finesse!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Life is Pretty Amazing with Quick Quotes and Xyron!

Today I would like to share a layout featuring the Calypso collection.  The colors and the vibe were a perfect match to my son's 4th grade school photo.

The die cut yellow cardstock "burst" was a gift from a girlfriend.  I simply added some pieces from different papers in the Calypso collection before I adhered it on white cardstock with the Xyron Tape Runner, matted it with blue and placed the die cut sticker in the center of the "burst"!

I loved using the Xyron Sticker Maker to add the die cut arrows to the layout!  It made it so easy!

When the arrows came out of the sticker maker I took a pencil and outlined the shape of each one before I removed the cover sheet.  Sometimes adhesive can be a little string-y, and this simple step really helps to minimize that!

The next step was to color the arrows with Quick Quotes Blue Moon Powder Puff Chalking Ink.  It was so easy to do this because the arrows were still stuck to the backing!  No worries about tearing or damaging the delicate shapes.

I peeled the arrows off of the backing and adhered them around the layout.  I used the Blue Moon Ink to edge the journaling strips below and then adhered them with a Xyron Tape Runner.

I often feel like they leave too much "head room" in school portraits, so I was very happy to fill the space with this banner from the Calypso Chipboard Die Cuts.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Couture Style with Want2Scrap and Graphic 45

I have several pictures of my mother from the 40's and 50's that I have been meaning to scrap.  Simple poses in a variety of outfits, so I realized that was the way to tie them together - fashion!

Nothing says Couture like Paris so I reached for the
Paris Overlay from Want2Scrap and  the Couture Collection from Graphic 45!

Here is how the overlay looked when I started:

It comes with white paper that adds an inner frame to the photo windows.  I replaced it with off-white to better match the colors in the Couture collection and then backed it with a piece of  Couture paper.

I framed the first photo with one of Want2Scrap's Vintage Fancy Frames Silhouettes and centered it in the opening.  Tags and chipboard from the Couture collection provide some layers and the chipboard dress form from Want2Scrap provides dimension.

The next opening features a laser cut Eiffel Tower.  I backed it with a piece of Fabulous paper from the 8 x 8  pad.  I like the smaller patterns in that format!  I added roses and stamps that I trimmed out of a sheet of Elegant paper.

The tag that spans the tower was cut with a Spellbinders die, then backed with a piece of coordinating chipboard from Want2Scrap called Nestaboard.  It was absolute serendipity that the Fabulous tag from Graphic 45 fits perfectly on top!

Below the laser cut "Paris" is another opening, which I filled with a vintage doily from my stash, another photo of my mother, Finesse Swirls from Want2Scrap and Pockets and Tags from Graphic 45.

I used a rubber stamp from Graphic 45 to stamp and emboss the word "Style" onto one of the coordinating pockets.  The matching tag was embellished with black rhinestone Baby Bling.

I wrapped this last chipboard tag with a piece of ribbon and layered it on top of this cute pose of my mom!

Even a little cheesecake pose can be classy!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

God's Creatures, Great and Small with Quick Quotes

Nothing says spring like baby animals, right?  I found these little ducklings and their momma paddling around a small lake and felt so blessed that they came up so close to me!   By combining the Serendipity and Calypso collections I was able to have this fresh blue and yellow color scheme.

Quick Quotes had the perfect vellum quote about God's creatures, great and small which I layered with the photos and a piece of chipboard near the center of the page.

I die cut the sentiment and a white cardstock backing piece using Spellbinders® Shapeabilities® Die D-Lites™ ATC die set. I used the die as a stencil  and added Lemonade PowderPuff Challking Ink before layering it all together on top of a piece of yellow paper.

I die cut the title in white using Spellbinder® Shapeabilities® Font One - Lower Case.  I cut and embossed the banner from papers in the collections using  Spellbinders Banner Basics 2 and I fussy cut the swirly flower on the right side of the paper using my craft knife.

The banner and each of the layers on the layout were inked with Biscotti PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

Here is a close up of the flower I fussy cut - you can see the beautiful Baby Bling I added for dimension.

Graduation Day Card from Moxxie

Hello and welcome!  I just want to say congratulations to all of you who have graduates in the family!  Isn't it exciting?  My nephew just graduated from college and I created this card for him using the Graduation Day collection from Moxxie:
Moxxie Graduation Card

The little graduation cap in the corner came from the Graduation Day Diecut sheet.  It holds the card closed.  When you open it up, you can see I created a little pocket to hold a personal note.  It is also the perfect place to stash a gift card or check for the grad!

A Road Trip with Paper House Productions & Xyron - and a Giveaway!

Welcome to Day 2 of the Paper House & Xyron Travel the World Co-Hop! I am so glad you are here and I have a great project to share with you!  Be sure to stop by Jo's blog and see her project before you head over to the Paper House and Xyron blogs - they are having giveaways every day this week!

Today I am sharing a travel themed mini-album!
Road Trip Collection Paper; Xyron Glue Stick; Want2Scrap Chipboard Album
Earlier this month my brother commemorated 40 years as a priest.  My siblings are spread all across the country but we decided to surprise him for the celebration.  I joined my sisters in Texas where we started a 165 mile road trip to Grambling, Louisiana.  We decided to “enjoy the journey” – bluebirds, guitars, rusty yard art, roses and a giant milkshake were just a few of the sights we saw along the way!  Paper House Productions had the perfect papers, 3D stickers and Canvas Art for everything! Xyron adhesives helped it all come together perfectly.  This Road Trip album holds lots of good memories – I hope you enjoy it!

We started our trip in Lindale, Texas and they had this fabulous billboard at each end of town!
Paper and Chalkboard Stickers from the Road Trip Collection.
Here's a close up for you:.

I got to see my first Texas Bluebirds!
Backyard Birds paper and 3D stickers

We had to check out the Pink Pistol, owned by Miranda Lambert.  Yee Haw!
Country Girl papers and cardstock stickers.  3D Acoustic Guitars sticker.

We took the scenic route and happened upon an abandoned gas station with some rusty characters out front.  They were built from an assortment of car parts! Very cool!
Farm Paper Pad and Road Trip Canvas Art stickers

I love the Canvas Art stickers - awesome graphics and I love the dimension!

This paper is a  collage of a vintage-y road map and license plates and provides a nice generic background for some interesting travel moments!

I used a white Uni-ball Signo Pigment Ink pen to write on the Chalkboard Sticker:

We found some place to stop and smell the roses:

My brother is an amateur astronomer and has built his own observatory.  We got to do a little stargazing away from the bright lights of the city:
Live by Faith paper; Road Trip 3D sticker

The celebration at the end of the road!  I loved using this paper as the background for this page!
Live by Faith Collection

The entire album, and the chipboard title on this page, are from Want2Scrap:

The back of the album was finished off with this really cute paper and the date of our trip!
Horse Collection paper

Xyron was very generous and sent along some great products for me to use.
I used the Glue Stick to adhere the paper to the chipboard pages making sure I covered the entire page, especially along the edges. I used a brayer to make sure there was full contact.  It dried very quickly and left no mess.  I used the Tape Runner to adhere the pictures.

Do you remember the front cover of the album?  I used a craft knife to cut out those letters and decided to save them for a future project.  It was easy to do using the Xyron Sticker Maker.

And finally, as a thank you for stopping by I am going to do a little giveaway of my own - a pack of Canvas Art stickers from Paper House Productions!

To be entered into the drawing you can do either or both of the following:
***You must leave a comment on this post letting me know what you have done!***
