Create Art with Paper House Canvas Stickers

Paper House Productions has been featuring projects recently using one of their newer products - Canvas Art Stickers!  They also happen to be one of my favorite products and were the perfect embellishment for this layout:

The bright messy background of the Create paper made me think of my girlfriend Karen.   She teaches art journaling and the Artist Collection from Paper House could have been designed just for her!  Her art journals are full of bright colors, texture and dimension, just like the Artist Canvas Art Stickers and the 3D Title stickers from the collection.  She understands the purpose of art in life and encourages her students to be fearless!  (You can check out her blog HERE)

Here are some close ups:

I tucked a tag behind the photos for hidden journaling.  I custom colored the ribbon on the tag using PowderPuff Chalking Inks from Quick Quotes:

Memories Make Me Smile with Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap

Today I am going to share a mini-album full of pictures that just make me smile!   I snapped these photos of my daughter years ago.  She was playing on the swing set in the back yard and she was so happy and carefree!  She was swinging so high at one point I thought she might actually take off and fly! *wink*

I like to remember everyday moments like that...and smile!

The album is from Want2Scrap and the papers I used are from Quick Quotes.  To decorate the cover I started with a sentiment from the Serendipity Words & Phrases Strip, cut circles out of Dream Big 100, and layered on Turquoise Bling and a Turquoise butterfly from Want2Scrap:

I custom colored some seam binding to tie onto the binding rings:
I used Blue Moon PowderPuff Chalking Ink on one side of the seam binding and Caribbean Blue on the reverse side of the seam binding.  I love the variegated color you get!
On the inside cover I included more circles.  I inked the edges with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink before I added more bling from Want2Scrap and some alphas:
On this page I used Feather Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink through the Arrows Stencil from Want2Scrap:
You can see here how I cut this vellum so that I could use it to frame the photo:

Here is a close up of the stencil work:

These pages were covered with Sheer Joy 200 and include another sentiment from the Serendipity Words and Phrases strip:

These pages were covered with Dream Big 200:

On the last 2 pages of the mini-album I pulled out Feather Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink and the Chevron Stencil from Want2Scrap:

Steampunk Angel from Want2Scrap and Quick Quotes

I have yet another Mixed Media Doll Tag to share today and this one has a Steampunk theme!
Once again, I mixed paper and chipboard elements from Quick Quotes with Want2Scrap embellishments!

To start with, I created a tag base with Dream Big 400 and then added a top layer of torn paper from Sheer Joy 300.  I used the Feather Gray PowderPuff Chalking Ink and a stencil to create that steampunk-y background with the gears and clock.

I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the ink and applied heat.  Next I replaced the stencil and used a black pen to trace all the lines.  Finally, I inked the entire tag with Mango Mai Tai PowderPuff Chalking ink, paying special attention to the torn edges of paper.

I stamped this Julie Nutting MIxed Media doll onto a light colored paper from Quick Quotes (Dusty Road 400) then colored her with watered-down Bloody Mary PowderPuff Chalking Ink – simply stamp on a craft mat, add water and paint!  Want2Scrap has a great set of chipboard Angel Wings and I painted one of the larger wings with a metallic copper acrylic paint.

The large chipboard gear was also painted metallic copper.  I absolutely had to add one of the Mauve Mulberry Paper Flowers from Want2Scrap – a perfect mix of technology and romance so typical of this genre!

I layered on some Die Cut Chipboard elements from Quick Quotes.  I distressed the edges with an emery board before I added some “age” with more of the Mango Mai Tai Ink:

The final touch was this Fancy Chipboard Word from Want2Scrap – “Dream” – which I colored using Midnight Confessions Chalking Ink from Quick Quotes.  I then treated it to clear embossing powder and some heat and – volia!

Here's another look at the finished tag:

Follow Your Dreams Tag with Want2Scrap and Quick Quotes

Today to I would like to share another Mixed Media Tag that started with one of the many stencils in theWant2Scrap inventory!
I used one of the newest paper collections from Quick QuotesSheer Joy.  I incorporated some of the Die Cut Chipboard and Die Cut Stickers and I am very happy with how all the elements came together!

I cut the base of the tag from Sheer Joy 300 then added modeling paste through the small brick stencil.  After the paste dried, I added color with Java PowderPuff Chalking Inks.  I stamped a little onto a craft mat, spritzed it with some water, then painted directly onto the bricks.

I recently purchased a large mixed media doll stamp and decided to paper piece her clothing.  For her blouse, I stamped onto Sheer Joy 200, trimmed it out, then adhered it to the doll.  I added Baby Bling in black rhinestones for buttons!

I created a small rosette for the bottom left of the card and added a Chipboard Die Cut from the Sheer Joy collection.  The sentiments in this set are so positive and happy!

.
.The “Follow Your Dreams” banner across the top of the tag is also one of the Chipboard Die Cuts.  The smaller banners on the left are from the Sheer Joy Die Cut sticker set.
The final touch of the tag was to add coordinating ribbon at the top.  With Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Inks it was super easy to customize a piece of seam binding.

I ran the ribbon over the ink pads once, then flipped it over and ran it over a different ink pad on the reverse side.  I paired up the Orange Slice with Red Hot, and the Limeade with Blue Lagoon.  I love the way it turned out!

Dream Big with Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap!

Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap have teamed up for the month of September!  Check out how well their products compliment each other in this project!

I recently purchased some of the Julie Nutting Mixed Media Dolls and wanted to create with them!!  I decided to make a tag that I could use as an embellishment on a scrapbook page.  The colors in the Dream Big collection from Quick Quotes were a match for my daughter's school picture!  Perfect starting point!

I began by tracing a tag from my stash onto Dream Big 400 so that the stripes ran diagonally.

Next I reached for the Chevron Stencil from Want2Scrap and the Carribean Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I shifted the stencil after the first application of ink so that the pattern lined up to create a diamond lattice when I inked a second time.
I used a black pen to trace in some of those lines to highlight the shapes. I cut circles from the Dream Big 100 paper and trimmed it to match the edge of the tag - except for the one circle I left on the upper right!

I paper pieced the doll by stamping her on multiple papers:  the main body is Dusty Road 400, the dress is Dream Big, and the sash and tiara are from Calypso 200.

I used Java Powderpuff Chalking Ink for her hair and created the band of jewels with the Want2Scrap 72 Count Orange Rhinestones.

I added a sentiment from the Sheer Joy Chipboard Die Cuts and dressed up one of the designs on the paper with Want2Scrap 72 CountTurquiose Rhinestones.
I love the 72 Count packages of bling from Want2Scrap because you get 4 different sizes of rhinestones in each pack!

Here's another look at the finished tag.

To create the base of the layout, I started with black cardstock and layerd on the yellow side of  Dream Big 300. I added a doily in the upper left corner of the layout.  Before I adhered it in place, I inked the edge with Carribean Blue and Orange Slice PowderPuff Chalking Inks.  The "Dream Big" banner is from Calypso 500.

The last thing I added was the title...a fun mix of dimensional alphas and little word stickers from my stash!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

US Army Bronze Star with Paper House

Today I thought it would be appropriate to share a layout I created honoring someone who has served our country:

I *love* the new military collections from Paper House Productions!  The Army collection was perfect for me to create this layout for a friend, honoring her husband's Bronze Star.  It is a very simple page.  The hardest part was matching the yellow paint for the stamped words across the bottom!  I wish I could tell you a name so you could go out and buy it, but I mixed together 3 different colors until I decided I had the right shade.
Below are some detail shots:
