Greetings from the USS Trutta!

Today I am sharing a layout I created with pictures from my father's time in Guam in 1945.  He served on the USS Trutta during WWII.

The photos are all black and white so I added some pops of color with my favorite new embellishment from Paper House - SnapShot stickers! The tropical beach and compass on a map really help set the scene.

The sun is from the new Cork'd stickers by Paper House and it really brightens up the layout.  I used another SnapShot sticker- this one with a camera - to highlight these photos he had taken of a native of Guam and another of his submarine buddies.

I also added some color with a couple of strategically positioned strips of washi tape:

Paper House also has some wonderful 3D stickers - I used a palm tree and a set of dog tags right smack in the center of the photo collage!

And there is my dad - my hero!

Cute CAS Cards

Time to dig through your stamp stash and create some cute CAS cards!  We buy sentiment stamps because we love them, right?  I confess that I kind of have a thing for "definition" stamps and I had not actually used these before now.  So sad!  But look - combining them with ready made images and strips of washi  can help you quickly stockpile some very cute all occasion cards!

These Clean And Simple cards require a bit more work than the set I shared last week - but not much!

The tapes I used for these cards can be found in the Love My Tapes Etsy shop:
Clouds with Love, Red and White, Wood washi tapes
On the first card I started with a double row of coordinating Love My Tapes washi tape along the bottom.  I used a stamped sentiment, added a red rhinestone heart from Want2Scrap and a Snapshot Sticker from Paper House before adhering it to the black cardstock base.

Here's a close up.  The heart in the kitty's thought bubble actually used to be more pink.  I colored it with a red marker to make it coordinate with the tapes I wanted to use.  Cute and simple!

For the second card I used several layers of cardstock, choosing the colors of the cardstock and the washi tape to coordinate with the focal image - this one is for dog lovers!

Here's a closeup of the wood grain tape I used.

Quick and Easy CAS Cards!

Today I am sharing a couple of Clean And Simple (CAS) cards I created for Love My Tapes:

I chose the following tapes, available from the Love My Tapes Etsy store, because they coordinated with the Paper House Snapshot stickers I wanted to use.
Triangles Washi Tape, Bunny Frog Washi Tape
I am not a big card maker but I am really happy with the way these turned out!  The best part is that they came together so fast because they only incorporate a few elements: cardstock, washi tapes, sentiment stamps and super cute Snapshot stickers from Paper House!
I absolutely adore this combination!  That dog image is so cute and it is a perfect match for the sentiment and the washi tape!

And here's a second version for cat lovers:

Baseball Paul!

My son played a lot of baseball when he was younger but he didn’t spend a whole lot of time as catcher so this series of pics with him behind the plate are unique.  They also happen to be among my favorites because when he caught me snapping away he stuck his tongue out at me!  Stinker!

I absolutely love the graphic title from the Paper House Baseball Bleachers paper!  It is a great match for the grungy feel of the *new* Colorways Noir Collection.  I trimmed out the title and matted it with black cardstock.  Behind that I added a strip from the Edgings paper.
The background paper is also from the Noir Collection.  The Ironworks paper reminds me of the chain link fence that surrounds every Little League field in America!  Baseball is all about statistics so I added the number filled circular element from the Stencil Grit paper.
Oh!  and I just had to highlight his facial expression with a black arrow from the Be Happy Rub-On Transfers.  Here's another rub-on with the perfect sentiment:
I added my son's name to the title with a very large chipboard alpha...
...and I couldn't resist actually putting a baseball in his catcher's mitt!

Seaside with Love My Tapes and Authentique

Today I am sharing a beach themed layout I created for Love My Tapes featuring the *new* Seaside Collection from Authentique. I recently won this collection from the Authentique Facebook page and could not wait to play with my prize!

I used this vibrant red and white washi tape, which you can find in the Love My Tapes Etsy store:

I started the layout by stenciling on white cardstock.  I wanted to match the rope net design in this paper and was happy to discover the Mini Fence Frame stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  Pretty good match, right?
I added layers of patterned paper and bits of the red and white washi tape...

...carefully positioning it so that it peeked out from beneath the layers, creating subtle dimension and strong accents.

Below you can see that I applied the washi tape to white cardstock and trimmed it out to add a *pop* to the strip journaling:  the Seaside Collection contains some great mini word stickers!  I absolutely had to use these cute little wooden sailboats from my stash!

You can see another flash of that washi tape peeking out here at the bottom of the layout.  The orange-y red is a perfect match for the colors in the paper line and my son's swim trunks!

To create a title, I mixed a Fancy Chipbboard Word from Want2Scrap with a sticker alpha from Authentique...

...and then sprinkled Navy Blue Rhinestones in the "nets" I created with the stencils.
Finally, I created a custom embellishment with a Spellbinders die - cutting, embossing and stenciling this cute crab.  I just adore the detail on this little guy!

Game On with Want2Scrap!

Give a kid a remote control car and you will both have hours of fun - especially if the dog also wants to play along!  It was hysterical to see who was going to get to the car first, Oliver or Layla, and I have such a smile on my face when I think of that day!  Fortunately for me, Want2Scrap had the perfect overlay to make scrapping those pictures fast and easy:
I got a little industrial look going on in the title area by using a combination of silver metallic duct tape and Shiny Chrome Drops.  They are self adhesive and come with (2) sizes in the package.  I used up an entire package on this layout.
The overlay has 4 small openings down the center which was the perfect place for these stickers from the movie Cars.  I backed the opening with textured silver cardstock first, then I added more of the Shiny Chrome Drops to the corners.
Here's another angle:

I added the name and date with my handy dandy dymo label maker and some black tape:
How can you not love this face?

Easter Egg Hunt with Want2Scrap Overlay

Want2Scrap has the perfect overlay to help you scrap your Easter Egg Hunt pictures!

One of my favorite thing about the laser cut overlays from Want2Scrap is that they come with built in titles.  I added a die cut flower and leaf, then placed a single pink self adhesive pearl in the center.

I used a ruler and a black ink pen to draw a frame around the edge of the overlay.  The black pen was also the perfect tool to define the Easter Bunny!  I drew in the facial features and colored them in with markers before tucking the super cute Bunny Crossing sign into place.

I added decorative die cut eggs, more flowers and more of the 72 Count self-adhesive pearls in front of the bunny man!

More eggs and one last flower!
