Summertime Carousel Layout

Summertime means amusement parks and amusement parks mean carousels!  At least they do when you are a kid!
I used the Le Cirque Collection from Graphic 45 on this page.  I love seeing all the words in the background to define the ride - Nerves of Steel!  Death Defying!  Mayhem!  Perhaps it is overstating it a little bit for this ride, but it certainly captures the fun and excitement of the moment!  I matted each of the layers with black cardstock and added simple journaling with my Dymo labelmaker.

I used the 12" Sleek Strip Red Rhinestones from Want2Scrap to accent the inner frame of this die cut:.

Baby Bling Red Rhinestones were just perfect in the center of each of these die cut florals:

Time for School with Want2Scrap

Time for School!!  Are you ready yet?

Today I am sharing a school themed mini album I created for a friend.  I used the Old Time Alarm Clock chipboard album from Want2Scrap as the base and painted it with red, black and metallic gold acrylic.  After the paint dried, I applied a few layers of UTEE to create a smooth, dimensional surface.

Next I backed the cover with scrapbook paper that looks like the writing paper we all remember from kindergarten.  I added a title and a 3D bus sticker from Paper House:
Inside the album I left the chipboard untreated.  I used the Grade School Stack from DCWV and Spellbinders' Grand Nestabilities to cut circles as a background for each page.  I found some school stickers from Momenta that had great graphics and sentiments and I sprinkled them throughout the album:
On this page, I added a photo mat and embellished with stickers and 8mm Yellow Enamel Dots.

Here are the rest of the pages:

Wrestling Life with Paper House

Today I am sharing a Wrestling layout featuring my favorite go-to collection for sports layouts:  the Noir Colorways Collection from Paper House Productions.

My boys were both wrestlers and the grungy feel of the papers is perfect because it reminds me of the endless weekends we spent in stinky gyms waiting for matches!
The use of metallics in scrapbooking is a trend that I absolutely adore!  I loved adding gold metallic touches to my layout using the Amazing Life Rub On Transfers.  The pack has a mix of phrases and design elements that create nice little accents when scattered across the page.

I think of this particular Rub On as the title of the page.  During the season, wrestling really is “the life”, demanding a huge commitment of time.

The Rub Ons transfer just as well on photos as they do on paper.
Here I created an embellishment cluster by mixing in die cuts from the Noir Accent Pack.  I cut the film strip out of the Trimmings 12” Scrapbook Paper,  layered on a rub on, then finished things off with a single rhinestone from Want2Scrap Baby Bling!

I went through my stash and found this really cute gold metallic washi tape from Little B. With arrows and the word “love” they really coordinate perfectly.

You can see below that I added another bit of gilt to the layout by swiping the edges of the black photo mats with gold ink:
Finally, I matted one of the photos with gold paper before tucking a tag behind it for hidden journaling. Done!
