Witchy Halloween!

Halloween is pretty popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I have been sharing a little Halloween Inspiration every day!
******************************************************
Happy Halloween!  Today's layout is all about the cutest little witch I know, my niece!
I used the Trick or Treat Collection from Carta Bella and I love how it turned out!  I created lots of background layers by matting coordinating papers with black cardstock.   And check out the cute little witch from the sticker sheet! Perfect, right?

I stacked several narrow text strips under the photo and then used Sleek Strip Rhinestones from Want2Scrap to accent the horizontal line.  The package comes with 4 strips in 2 different sizes.  I used the larger size and pieced them together to get the length I need.

I added an embelishment cluster in the upper right and tucked away a tag for hidden journaling.  The "Spooky" piece of flair works as a pull handle for the tag.

The "Halloween Carnival" panel is from a sheet of cut apart cards and really balances the right side of the page.  To finish things off, I added the "jack-o-lantern kittens" sticker in the bottom right.
I hope you have enjoyed my week of Halloween Inspiration.  I sure did!  In fact, if you check back tomorrow I have a bonus layout!

Trick or Treat with Carta Bella and Little B

Welcome back to day 5 of my Halloween Inspiration Week!  Halloween is very popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I will be sharing a little Halloween inspiration every day.
**************************************************************************************
Today I am sharing another layout featuring the Trick or Treat Collection from Carta Bella.  My favorite paper in the entire collection has got to be Ghosts. I used one side of it in my layout from yesterday and today I am using the flip side!

This year I actually had time to snap 2 pictures on the front porch before the kids hit the road!  I love the frame effect created by the paper design.  I simply matted the 2 pics on black paper and started to play with embellishments!
I cut the title with dies from Little B and adhered it to a tag.  I will do some journaling on the reverse to talk about the costume selections.
I absolutely *adore* the graphics in this collection - so retro!
You know I love my washi tape!  I used a couple of bits on the layout.  The Halloween words roll is from Little B.

Trick or Treat - Again!

Welcome back to day 4 of my Halloween Inspiration Week!  Halloween is very popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I will be sharing a little Halloween inspiration every day.
*****************************************************************
Today I am sharing a layout created using the same Want2Scrap overlay that I used yesterday.  This time I only have one picture and I am using the Trick or Treat Collection from Carta Bella.

Going out with the kids next door always made trick or treating so much more fun, right?  When my kids were still young, the dads were usually the chaperones and the moms had to stay home and hand out candy.  They were so excited every year I would barely get a group shot before they were out and about!

For this layout I chose to use the Ghosts paper as the background.   First of all, the color combination is an obvious winner for Halloween!  Secondly I love the sight of that parade of silhouetted trick or treaters against the swirling ghosts - absolutely perfect!

The Halloween Carnival paper has a set of these wonderful vintage cut apart cards on one side.  The costume theme of the layout - started with the laser cut parade across the bottom -  continues with the cards I chose for the page.

Speaking of those little trick or treaters, do you see the owls swooping around their  heads?  Those are some of the new Halloween Bat Puffy stickers from Paper House and they are exactly the right scale for this page!

I wanted to point out one more thing: the tiny spider dangling from the last letter in the title. Don't you just love the bow?   It is one of my favorite little details to add to Halloween layouts -  spooky and cute at the same time!

I have another layout tomorrow featuring the Trick or Tr eat collection from Carta Bella so be sure to come back!

Trick or Treat with Want2Scrap!

Welcome back for Day 3 of my Halloween Inspiration Week!  Halloween is very popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I will be sharing something every day!
************************************************************************
Want2Scrap has a nice selection of Halloween themed products to choose from, including the Trick or Treat overlay I used for this page.  I used it to scrap pictures and tell the story of my daughter's very first Halloween!

My daughter was not quite a year old at Halloween and made the cutest little pumpkin!  The boys decided to be Spiderman and Casper the Friendly Ghost.  Everything was going along so well until my oldest put on his Casper face/head/mask for pictures.  My daughter was suddenly terrified and burst into tears!  It took a little doing - and mommy had to hold her - but they made friends again just in time to go trick or treating!

Starting with an overlay always saves so much time!  One of the best things about it is that they include a built in title.  I replaced the background paper with a Halloween paper from my stash and then started to play with the placement of my photos.  Nothing really seemed to work so I decided to alter the title area.
I clipped the laser cut words apart and arranged them on my page.  I matted my photos with black cardstock before adhereing them and then added some really cute vintage die cuts from Pretty Little Studio!
Probably my favorite part of this overlay is the parade of laser cut costumed children across the bottom of the page!
I love all the delicate details!  Check out the faces on those jack-o-lantern pails and the really spooky tree!
Please come back tomorrow - I have a completely different layout using this same overlay!

My Zombie Plan!

Welcome back for Day 2 of my Halloween Inspiration Week!  Halloween is very popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I will be sharing a little soemthing every day.
**************************************************************************
Ask me about my Zombie Plan!  It involves a laser cut overlay and plenty of rhinestone bling from Want2Scrap!
Last year I used an online website to "zombie-fy" some pictures of myself and a few scrapbooking friends.  Don't they look great?  Creating the perfect layout was easy with this themed overlay!
I added a background paper with a spooky spider web design.  The title is laser cut with a funky font and features the silhouettes of 3 of the "walking dead."
I sprinkled self-adhesive Amber Rhinestones around the layout.  I think they look great in the centers of the webs!

Paper House has some great Zombie-themed 3D stickers that I used to provide quick and creepy accents for this page!
Another quick and easy layout thanks to Want2Scrap and Paper House!  See you tomorrow for Day 3 of my Halloween inspiration!

Pumpkin Carving Time!

Welcome to Day 1 of my Halloween Inspiration Week!  Halloween is very popular at my house and over the years I have taken a ton of pictures!  I recently decided to do some catching up and this week I will be sharing a little something every day.
***************************************************************************
October is pumpkin carving time around my house so I was thrilled to find that Want2Scrap had the perfect overlay for scrapping the event!

Halloween is probably my husband's favorite holiday so we have lots of traditions to make it special every year.  Carving pumpkins has to be the boys' favorite activity - apparently there is some good bonding to be had while you scoop the guts out of a jack-o-lantern!

I decided to keep the color scheme very traditional:  orange and black.  The black cardstock really shows off the details in the laser cut stack of jack-o-lanterns next to the title!

I added a few bits of themed washi tape just for fun - spider webs and spooky eyes!  Next I arranged the photo collage in the center of the page and added a journaling card.

The 3D stickers I used are from Paper House.  They have tons of Halloween themed stickers and I really love the dimension and the pops of color!

Overlays from Want2Scrap are always a great starting point and adding 3D stickers from Paper House helped this layout come together so easily!

Nestled into Fall with Authentique Paper!

I absolutely adore this time of year!  I live in Northern Virginia and we have such beautiful fall colors right now.  Fortunately for me, Authentique Paper recently released the Nestled Collection.  It is perfect for scrapping my favorite fall pictures - like these shots I snapped of my son a couple of years ago.  It was election day (that is an "I voted" sticker on his sweatshirt) and he was on his way home from the polls.  He was cutting through our back yard when I caught him playing with the family dog!

The beautiful orange and gold plaid paper perfectly echoes the colors of the leaves in my back yard! The reverse side of the plaid is covered in natural wood rulers in a variety of sizes - love them!

I trimmed out one of the rulers and used it as a background for the plaid alpha from the 12"x12" sticker sheet.  There are all sorts of outdoorsy themed stickers on that sheet to sprinkle around a layout.  I think my favorite is the small maple leaf with the heart in the center - but there is also a banner with my favorite quote about fall leaves!

The collection has a great set of cut apart cards and wood grained elements.  The tree ring cross sections were individually trimmed out of another page and make fabulous eye-catching embellishments!

North to Alaska! with Paper House

I checked an item off my bucket list this summer with a cruise to Alaska!  Before I even left town I knew I would be using the Alaska Collection from Paper House to scrapbook my adventures!

Our very first excursion was to the Saxman Indian Village outside of Ketchikan.  The beautifully painted clan house and the standing totems were amazing!

The design of this layout is a very simple collage in the center of the page with a tag tucked behind for hidden journaling.  The Alaska 2 Cardstock stickers provided most of my embellishments on this layout...

...although I did use one sticker from the 3D Sticker set.

Clean and simple and easy to pull together thanks to the coordinated collection from Paper House!

Want2Scrap and Spellbinders Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest

Today I am sharing a layout I created for Spellbinders' Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest featuring one of the dies in the new Woodland Collection.  I am one of the designers representing Want2Scrap and I had a lot of fun creating this spooky little page!

These are the dies I was sent to play with:
The first thing I did was to cut, emboss and stencil a set of the trees. I used papers from a 6" paper pad in Authentique Papers spooky new Moonlit Collection.  I love the smaller scaled patterns for projects like this.
The base of the layout is the Spider Web Outline 12" Overlay  from Want2Scrap.  I changed out the plain background paper with some great themed paper, also from the Moonlit Collection.
Once the Woodland trees were in place, I created a mini collage of photos in the center and started to embellish!  I used the Labels One Nestabilities set to die cut, emboss and stencil a vintage Halloween image and then centered it on die cut and embossed black cardstock.

I had lots of fun layering my embellishments. The cute little orange arrow with the heart is from the Shoot! die set.   I don't know if you can see the tiny spider in the corner of the title tag, but I added a piece of black rhinestone bling to make him dimensional!

I actually sprinkled lots of black rhinestone bling around the page:

I decided to really accent the spider web in the lower right hand corner with Sleek Strip Black Rhinestones.  I cut the strips to size and placed them along the lines of webbing that radiated from the 8mm rhinestone in the center.  I love it!

Be sure to visit the Want2Scrap blog today to see the cute project created by my fellow designer, Candy Slabaugh using another new die from Spellbinders!
