Pocket Card with Quick Quotes

Today I am sharing a card I created using the beautiful Chiffon collection from Quick Quotes!  It is one of my favorite cards to make because it is quick, easy, pretty and practical:  a Diagonal Double Pocket Card.

I frequently find myself in the position of needing a quick gift for somebody.   What to do? What to do?  Answer:   A Gift Card!  These days you can get a gift card for just about anything:  Home Improvement, Music, Movies, Restaurants, Books, Clothing, Manicures and Massages!  The real question is how to stylishly present the gift card.  Here is how you do it!

The base of the card is created by folding a sheet of 8.5”x11” piece of paper, so I trimmed down a piece of Chiffon 101. Fold the paper in half length-wise and crease, with the solid blue on the inside.

Open.  Turn paper 90 degrees.  Fold the paper in half again, width-wise this time, and crease.  Open.

Align paper so the short side is along the bottom.  Cut along the fold line from the left edge of the paper to the intersection of lines in the middle.

Fold the top left corner down so that it is about 1-1/2" from the center fold line. Crease.

Fold the top left quadrant over on top of the right quadrant.  Crease. Adhere top blue layer to the printed background along right edge.

Fold the bottom left quadrant under the bottom right quadrant.  Crease.

Fold the bottom right corner up so that it meets the center fold line. Be sure you fold both layers at the same time. Crease.

Fold the bottom section up. Adhere along the left and right edges.

At this point, I created a focal image for the front of the card by cutting out one of the sentiments from Chiffon 500.   I adhered it with dimensional foam tape on top of a mat I cut from Chiffon 100. I inked the edges with Milk Chocolate and Seabrook.

Next I cut a tag and tied it with a coordinating ribbon.  I use the tag to include a personal note and tuck it into the back pocket.

At this point I usually tuck a gift card into the front pocket, adhered to a 2nd tag.  In this case, since I made the card for my husband, I decided to include a photo instead.

I make these cards all the time because they are fast and easy to customize for all occasions.  I hope you will give it a try!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Love...Club Q from Quick Quotes!

Today I am sharing a layout I created with the February Club Q Kit from Quick Quotes!  I combined elements from several of  the kits to create my perfect page!  With the beautiful laser cut heart frame from one of the page kits, I was inspired to scrapbook my engagement pictures...from 25 years ago!  Here are a few details:

The kits include this beautiful green grosgrain ribbon.  I cut 3 pieces about 3" in length, tied overhand knots and trimmed the edges on an angle.  I used glue dots to adhere the bows on top of the frame.

I assembled one of the flowers, inking the petals with Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Ink.
I created a lot of dimension by using 3D glue dots between each layer of the petals.  You can see the leaves peeking out from underneath.  I scored them down the center and gently creased each leaf before inking with Light Moss and Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Inks.
The lower portion of the heart frame actually incorporates the word "Love" written in script!
I embellished the letter "L" with another small flower. This is also a good picture to show a little of my detail work!  In addition to inking, I used a black ink pen to "stitch" around the entire inner and outer edges of the frame. It adds a little subtle definition.
The February Club Q Kit was full of all kinds of lovely detail pieces!  I used Milk Chocolate PowderPuff Chalking Ink on the delicate laser cut edging. So elegant!

I added another small picture and a wonderful sentiment card to the bottom right corner and finished everything off with a bow!

Quick Quotes Design Team!

Hello and welcome!  I am so happy to share that I am re-joining the Design Team at Quick Quotes!

Today's layout features the beautiful Farmhouse Collection from Quick Quotes and, just in time for Valentines Day, my little sweetheart!
Click on photo to enlarge image.
I started with an 8.5"x12" piece of Farmhouse 102.  I inked along all of the edges with Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I then very gently wiped the  edges wth Milk Chocolate PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I centered it on top of a piece of white cardstock and added scalloped borders cut from Farmhouse 101.
I love using PowderPuff Chalking Inks to create custom embellishments for my projects.  For this layout, I die cut heart frames out of white cardstock, then colored them to coordinate with the Farmhouse paper.
Here you can see that I actually layered frames colored with 2 inks - Desert Sun and Sunset.  I used the heart die to fussy cut the center from Farmhouse 100.
I used 2 different inks, Sky Blue and Seabrook, to ink and stencil  a floral design onto another heart.
I used that heart in the center of this cork frame:
The page title comes from this wonderful element from the Farmhouse Chipboard Die Cuts.  I added Milk Chocolate PowderPuff Ink to the edge before creating a little embellishment cluster with more chipboard, flowers and a doily!
