Butterfly Kisses Photo Tray

As many of you know, I recently applied to join the BoBunny DT. While I did not make the final cut this year, I was absolutely tickled to receive the beautiful Butterfly Kisses Collection to use for my 2nd round projects!  The colors and imagery were perfect for a project I had in mind: a photo tray to hold pictures of my beautiful great niece, Ella Jules.  It was created as a gift and as it has now reached its destination I can finally share it on my blog!

The very first thing I did was to apply Crackle Primer and White Crackle Paste to the front edge of the frame creating lots of texture.

I must say I am a huge fan of 6x6 paper pads.  The smaller patterns are perfect for cards and for projects like this.  I purposely positioned this photo so that the strip of butterflies just peeked over the top edge.  I love it!  I also added a bit of dimension using elements from the Buttons, Brads and Chipboard packs.

The mason jar in this opening is from the Layered Chipboard Sticker pack and the touch of glitter on the butterfly wings is just gorgeous!

I added some twine to a small chipboard banner from the Buttons pack and I think it is the perfect bright pop for this mini collage!

I added my niece's name with alpha stickers on this lovely card cut from the Foil Vellum paper.

I used a craft knife to cut a slit in this card trimmed from the Flutter paper.  Slipping the photo behind the banner created the illusion of depth.  The laser cut chipboard cukoo clock was painted with gesso and adorned with a Double Dot Think Pink Jewel.

I filled this opening with a photo and then added a silver heart trimmed out of the Foil Vellum paper.
Simple. Elegant. Perfect.

I popped this photo up with foam dots before adding a word from the Combo Sticker sheet. The background card was trimmed out of the Flutter paper and then dressed up with butterflies from the Noteworthy and the Chipboard pack.

The final opening is probably my favorite!  I fussy cut a butterfly out of the Foil Vellum and created my own little fairy!  The banner in the background was created using pieces from the Chipboard, Brads, and Buttons packs.

I really enjoy creating these photo displays because each individual opening is like a mini-scrapbook page.  There are so many options in this collection to make layering fun and easy.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!
Susie
