Winter Bliss with Quick Quotes

Today and I am sharing a layout featuring the Winter Bliss Collection from Quick Quotes and a laser cut overlay from Want2Scrap.

I started by trimming  the background paper to an 11.5" square and then centered it on black cardstock.  You can see I matted each of the layers with black cardstock before topping it all off with a 6"x6" laser cut overlay from Want2Scrap.

One of my favorite things about the overlay is that it comes with a built in title!  It also comes with a white background page that gave me a border for my picture.

I embellished the laser cut snowflakes with Want2Scrap Iridescent Rhinestones.  The fact that they are self adhesive makes them so easy to use!

Want2Scrap Black Enamel Dots were perfect for accenting this list of priorities!

I just love the way patterns and papers in this collection work together.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Prom Memories with Want2Scrap and Quick Quotes

Today I am sharing a layout that captures my daughter's senior prom memories.  It features some of my favorite products from Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap!

I started with papers from the Quick Quotes' Chiffon Collection, tearing and inking the layers to add some lovely texture and character.

I included a vellum quote amongst my collage of pictures.  I have been lucky to be on the Quick Quotes Design Team for a couple of years and I pulled this one from my "stash" because it was perfect for the page.  They have created vellum quotes on such a wide array of subjects and events that you will have no problem finding one that works for any of your scrapbooking projects!

Likewise, Want2Scrap has a huge selection of Fancy Chipboard Words!  I love to alter them and use them on all of my projects: cards, layouts, canvases, and mini-albums.  There is even a way to order a custom word if you need something that is not in stock!  For this layout, I used glittery black embossing powder to alter the word "Sparkle", which I had ordered as a special request!

I used Warm Sand and Antique Linen PowderPuff Chalking Inks on the torn paper edges and then added pieces of Black Rhinestone Swirls Finesse

The multi-layered "Prom Memories" die cut was perfect for the title!  It brought a touch of class to the page by adding silver and gold glitter paper to the classic black camera and white letters.
Before you leave, take a peek at the mask my daughter is wearing in the center photo.  I brought a basic cardboard mask home from the local craft store and she added glitter and LeCreme Swirls Finesse Pearls to create a one of a kind design that perfectly coordinated with her gown!  (Yes - this crafty momma was so proud!)

Inspiration Week with Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap

This week Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap are teaming up to bring you a little creative inspiration.  The project I am sharing today features the Honeycomb Collection from Quick Quotes and Chipboard Embellishments from Want2Scrap.

I love our family tradition of fall pictures at the pumpkin patch and the colors in the Honeycomb Collection are perfect for scrapping the memories!  I used the orange side of Honeycomb 102 as the base of this gratitude themed layout.  I trimmed down Honeycomb 105 to an 11.5" square, distressing and inking the edges before centering it on the page.  I used some burlap and striped papers to create photo mats for my pictures and added a tag for hidden journaling.

This month the Design Team got the chance to add some wonderful products from Want2Scrap to our projects and I love the chipboard quotes!  They are so easy to alter and they make perfect page titles! I received a chipboard quote that reads "The Little Things".  I decided to add color to the word "little" using PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I used washi tape to mask off the other words before painting it with gesso. If you want to end up with a strong, true color you have to start with a white base.

After it dried, I inked with Sunset PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I removed the washi tape and used clear embossing ink and embossing powder on the whole chipboard title. I love the 2 tone look!

I used some other Chipboard Embellishments from Want2Scrap on the layout.  Here you can see how much darker and richer the color becomes when you use clear embossing powder on top of the plain chipboard.

The Quick Quotes Challenge this month is "Tear It Up" so you can see several torn pieces of paper on the layout.  I used Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Ink on the edges before I layered them onto the page.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope youfind some time to play today!  Susie

Best Day Ever with Want2Scrap and Quick Quotes

Today I would like to share a layout I created by combining a chipboard quote from Want2Scrap with the Honeycomb Collection from Quick Quotes!  These papers have the perfect colors for scrapping your fall pictures - oranges, blues, greens and creamy off white!  I had to use them to scrap this picture of my daughter's first trip to the pumpkin patch!

I started by typing my journaling straight onto the page then began distressing, inking and layering the papers.  I used Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Inks to lightly stamp some falling leaves on the background.

Here's a close-up. You can see I used more than one color for the stamped images before adding a die cut leaf cut from the bright orange paper in the collection.

I created an oversized photo mat from the patterned paper to really frame that precious photo.

Creating the title using a chipboard quote from Want2Scrap was the easiest part!  I love the rustic feel you get from the natural chipboard but I wanted a slightly different color. I used clear embossing powder to make the color a bit richer and then added it to my page as the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Stenciled Gift Box for Rebecca Baer Designs

Today I am sharing mylast project as a member of the 2016 Rebecca Baer Design Team.  Just in time for the holidays, I wanted to show you how easy it is to create a unique and beautiful gift box.

I found this 13" square fabric covered box at a local craft store and thought it would be perfect for holding a wedding album I was creating as a gift.  It was a little plain so I decided to add just a little detail with Rebecca's large sized Jamboree collage stencil.

I centered the stencil on top of the lid and held it in place with washi tape.

I chose 3 different shades of ink in the same color family as the fabric on the box because I wanted to create a subtle tone on tone effect.  These are very fast drying inks.

I applied the inks through the stencil using a blending tool.

When I removed the stencil I thought it still needed something around the edge.

I replaced the stencil and then just inked around the outside edge, creating a frame for the details on the center of the lid.

I added flowers, pearls and a chipboard word from my stash.
I love how it turned out!  I think the gift box is just as pretty as the gift I will be placing inside!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Believe in Yourself with Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap

Today I am sharing a layout I created for the November Challenge on the Quick Quotes Blog.  I am encouraging you to Tear It Up!

When I first started scrapbooking I had to have everything measured and cut and nice and clean.  I have changed!  One of my favorite ways to add texture is really easy - just tear and layer your paper!  Here is a layout I created with the Farmhouse Collection.

I started by laying the light blue paper on top of the floral print.  Next I tore the top paper in 3 different places, inking the edges with Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

This month we are doing a cross promotion with Want2Scrap.  I took the opportunity to add a little mixed media to my project by applying spackling paste through their small brick stencil.

After the paste dried, I added color to the bricks with Sunset and Warm Sand PowderPuff Chalking Inks.

Want2Scrap also manufactures chipboard quotes. I chose to use one as a title and I wanted to make it 2 different colors.  I masked off the lower half of the quote and painted the top word with gesso.

Next I used Caribbean Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink to color the word "believe". After it dried, I covered the entire chipboard quote with clear ink and clear embossing powder.

Here are a few close ups of the page:

I folded back the edges of the tear on the top  of the page and added a die cut sticker from the Farmhouse collection.

The tear on the side of the page is more of a peek-a-boo.

I also added a die cut sticker to the tear on the bottom of the page.
I hope you join in the Tear It Up Challenge this month over at the Quick Quotes blog.  There are prizes to be won so be sure to checkout al the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie
