All Aboard with Quick Quotes!

My great-nephew absolutely loves trains and I was tickled to get these pics of him (and his mom) taking a ride at a local amusement park.  I created this layout for Quick Quotes using the Earth Wind Fire Collection.  All aboard!

I started by choosing a very neutral background paper.  For the foreground, I took one sheet of Earth Wind Fire 101 and cut it at about 6.5".  With the red side up, I adhered it across the top of the page.

I took the remaining piece, flipped it over so the patterned side showed, and positioned it on the left side of the page.

I trimmed a banner out of the Cut Apart page and added it to create a strong horizontal line.

Here is a close up so you can see how I folded under the ends of the banner to shorten it and give it some dimension.  I love dimension!

I used Barn Board PowderPuff Chalking Ink and a stencil to add a subtle detail before positioning my photos.

The perfect embellishment for a layout about trains is pretty much anything with gears!  I heat embossed these chipboard pieces from Want2Scrap and mixed in some small metal gears from my stash.   The metallic platinum embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle and the Want2ScrapChrome Drops add just the right amount of shine!

Here is a close up of the embellishment cluster in the bottom left of the layout.  In addition to the gears and Chrome Drops, I added a couple of tickets from the Earth Wind Fire Chipboard Die Cuts.  I used Khaki ink on the tickets and along the outer edge of the entire page.

Father and Son Softball Layout

Susie here with a fun layout that started with one of the many laser cut Softball themed items available from Want2Scrap! My husband plays in a softball league with his buddies from work.  Our sons were able to play on the team after high school and I captured these pictures at an evening game. The 12x12 overlay made this layout fast and easy!

I started by removing the white backing paper and replacing it with a green and white patterned paper. I trimmed the outer edge of the overlay a little and centered it on the page.

I did need to replace the white paper behind the softball, then I added some photos and embellished with stickers, flair and a Dymo label maker.

I scattered 4 smaller photos underneath the laser cut title.  Don't feel like you need to fill each of the openings with a photo.  You can use them to group pictures and related embellishments.
Remember to check with Want2Scrap for any sports related scrapbooking elements - we have you covered from Archery to Wrestling!  You can find this overlay, along with many other softball themes items, HERE.

Family Blessings with Quick Quotes

Today I am sharing a card I created using the Earth Wind Fire Collection from Quick Quotes.
The Joy Fold card is one of my favorites because of all the different surfaces you have to decorate.  You can find a full tutorial HERE.

In this close up you can see I added a piece of Want2Scrap rhinestone bling to the sentiment panel which I had clipped out of the Earth Wind Fire Cut Apart page.

I trimmed some of the stylized flowers out of one of the papers and used them to hold the front card flap closed.

Here is what it looks like when it is completely open, just waiting for a personalized message from the heart!  There is also plenty of room inside to add a photo or a gift card, too!

Heartfelt Creations and Want2Scrap - Under the Sea

Today I am sharing a quick little mixed media card  I created with a stamp from Heartfelt Creations and Want2Scrap bling!

I don't have a lot of patience for detailed coloring but that doesn't keep me from using a beautifully detailed stamp. The Under the Sea stamp set has 5 whimsical sea creatures with the most amazing details!

I created a wash of orange and yellow on watercolor paper with Color Burst and then I stamped and die cut some of the little fishies.

One of my favorite things about Heartfelt Creations stamps is that they frequently come with dies that match. It makes it quick and easy to isolate an image and then pop it up off the background for a huge impact.  Here I used dimensional adhesive to add one of the fish on top of an Ultramarine Blue Color Burst background.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment then I mounted that whole element on black cardstock.  I lined the top and bottom with a strip of washi tape from my stash.  The final touch was a double layer of Sleek Strip Rhinestones in 2 colors and sizes - black and turquoise.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie
