Tussie Mussie - small bouquets of herbs and flowers with symbolic meanings
Traditionally a tussie mussie was placed in a small metal vase designed to be carried. I think a small nosegay is a charming home dec accent but I needed a way to hang it. So for my Eileen Hull Inspiration Team project this month I came up with a stylish solution using the Notebook Pocket die from Sizzix and the Pumpkin Spice Premium Stack from DCWV!
I die cut a Notebook Pocket from mat board. See that beautiful orange color? I used Eileen's ColorBox Blends inks from Clearsnap: Stop and Sunshine blended together perfectly. I applied the ink to both sides of the mat board.
I used a Crop-a-Dile® to punch an extra hole in each side, aligned with the holes which were already cut by the die, and then I threaded a ribbon through them and tied overhand knots at each end.
I assembled the Notebook Pocket using double-sided iCraft Supertape.
I was gifted with the Pumpkin Spice Premium Stack from DCWV and inside I found a lovely sheet of 3" x 4" cards.
I trimmed out a couple...so hard to choose...
...then finally adhered one on the front of the Notebook Pocket with a mat.
I tucked in a small bouquet and found the perfect place to hang my little tussie mussie!
It is a great little DIY home dec accent but I can also see it being carried by a flower girl or junior bridesmaid, can't you?
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today! Susie
