Believe with Quick Quotes!

Today I am sharing a sweet and simple layout that is perfect for holding your visit with Santa photos.  I used papers from the Quick Quotes Earth Wind and Fire Collection.

I created the background by layering coordinating pieces from the Earth Wind and Fire Collection.

I used a green polka dot paper from the same collection to create this fun tree.  You can find the Christmas tree tutorial I shared earlier this month HERE.
I topped the tree with a die cut snowflake.  It was cut from white cardstock so I used Antique Linen PowderPuff Chalking Ink to change the color so it coordinated better with the papers.

I found the Believe card in the Sentiments Quote Cards pack. They come printed in black on heavy white cardstock. I layed Silver Deco Foil on top of the quote card before running it through a heat laminator.  The silver stuck to the black ink on the card.  Stunning!
I used Antique Linen on the white cardstock before mounting it on black cardstock and adhereing it below the tree.

The little embellishment cluster with tags, a ticket and a chipboard snowflake is just perfect to help frame a photo.  I inked the snowflake with Antique Linen then used clear embossing powder.  Finishing touch was Mother of Pearl Rhinestone bling from Want2Scrap!

Mixed Media Snowflake Card with Peachy Keen

Today I am sharing a mixed media card featuring Want2Scrap snowflake bling and a stamp from Peachy Keen!

I created the background with Ken Oliver Color Bursts on watercolor paper.  I trimmed it down and inked the edges before mounting it on cardstock.

I used Spellbinders Cascading Circles die to cut white cardstock.

I used a stamp from the Peachy Keen In the Garden 1-1/8" Face Set to stamp on vellum with permanent black ink.  I colored the eyes from the backside with a sky blue marker.

I wanted to adhere the face behind one of the holes in the die cut so I trimmed the vellum down and added Zip Dry glue to the backside of the die cut.

I also used Zip Dry to adhere the entire die cut onto the Color Burst background.  Heres a close up of the stamped face on the card.

I pulled out Nina Brackett's Let It Snow bling and chose a snowflake for the upper right of the card.

With my Dymo Caption Maker I was able to add customized words to the card.

Under the Sea Mixed Media Card with Want2Scrap

Today I am sharing a mixed media card pairing the Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea stamp set with Want2Scrap rhinestone bling!

I adore anything to do with the ocean so I loved playing with the whimsical images in the Under the Sea stamp set from Heartfelt Creations.  One of my favorite thing about them is that they have coordinating dies!  Die cutting the images is so much faster than having to fussy cut them!

I started by creating a mixed media background on water color paper with Ken Oliver Color Bursts.  When it dried I stamped the seahorse image with permanent black ink.  Using the coordinating die, I cut and embossed the  seahorse.

In order to really emphasize the eye, I added a 2.5mm black rhinestone from my pack of Want2Scrap Baby Bling.

I created a background on white cardstock with inks, a stencil and Atlantic Seaspray embossing powder.   I achieved a little bit of "grunge" before I stamped a sentiment and adhered the seahorse.

I sprinkled the card with Irridescent, Turquoise and Light Green rhinestones in 3 different sizes to finish things off!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Joy Fold Card Tutorial with Quick Quotes

Today and I am sharing a fancy fold card I created with the Winter Bliss Collection from Quick Quotes.

This is a Joy Fold card and it is one of my favorites because you can use several different coordinated papers to decorate the surfaces.  As an early Christmas present, I have created this tutorial for you!

Start by creating the card base with an 8.5" x 4.25" piece of white cardstock.  Score it at 3".  Cut a 4" x 5.25" piece from Winter Bliss 105, ink the edges with Caribean Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink and adhere it to the back of the card.

Cut a 4" x 2.75" from the same paper.  Flip it over so the arrow pattern shows, ink the edges and adhere it to the inside flap of the card base.

Cut a 4" x 2.75" piece from Winter Bliss 103, ink the edges and adhere it to the outside front of the flap.

Cut an 8" x 3" piece of white cardstock, score it at 4" and fold it in half. Cut a 3.75" x 2-5/8" piece from Winter Bliss 103. Ink the edges and adhere it to the inside with the solid blue side up.

Close the flap. Cut another piece the same size from the same paper and adhere it to the outside.

Adhere the smaller flap to the back of the card base, centering it and positioning it so that the flap opens to the left.

To keep the smaller flap closed, I added a small embellishment - a silver button.

You can see that I positioned it so that it just catches the edge of the smaller flap and holds it in place.

For the focal image I chose a Christmas themed card from the Sentiments Quote Cards pack, which come printed in black on heavy white cardstock.

I layered Silver Deco Foil transfer sheet on top of the card and ran it through a heat laminator.

Here's a picture that really shows how well the Deco Foil clung to the sentiment - so gorgeous!

Here is what the finished card looks like as you open it up.  I added a gift card to the inside, but it would also be a great place for a picture.

The solid blue panel on the inside is where I will be writing a little note.

This month's Quick Quotes Challenge is to use Silver and Blue in your project.  You have until December 30th to upload your entry for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.  I do hope you will play along!  You can read all the details HERE.

Under the Mistletoe with Quick Quotes

Today I am sharing a tag I created featuring an origami Christmas tree!  The reds and greens in the Earth, Wind and Fire collection from Quick Quotes are perfect for Christmas designs.  The subtle, delicate patterns look great on both the dress and the tree!
Let's start by creating the dimensional tree!  I cut several squares from green paper patterned paper in the Earth Wind and Fire collection.  The smallest size was 1.75" and I increased the dimensions by 1/4" all the way up to the largest square at 3".  Use your judgement on how many of each size to cut based upon what size tree you want to build.

First, fold the square in half and give it a good crease with your bone folder.
Open the square...
...and fold it on the diagonal.  Again give it a nice crease with the bone folder.
Open the square again, rotate it 90 degrees...
...and fold it on the other diagonal.  Don't forget to crease it!
Open the square back up and collapse in the sides as shown in this picture...
...so that it folds into a flat triangle shape!
Fold the right side of the triangle (top layer only) to the center and crease the fold.
*Tip:  Use the grid lines on your cutting mat to position the triangle and make the fold precise.
Now repeat with the left side, making sure you crease the folds with your bone folder.  Your square should now look like this:
Now repeat the same steps with all of your squares. If the paper doesn't stay folded, feel free to add strips of adhesive in a couple of places.  Once they are all folded, stack the triangles to form a Christmas tree, slipping the tips of each triangle into the folds of the one above it.  I used liquid adhesive to glue the triangles in place.
Here's a look at the back side:
Next I created the paper doll by stamping on Chiffon 105. The dress was stamped on the front and back of paper 105 from the Earth, Wind and Fire collection.
I fussy cut and layered the papers for the dress.
I watered down Antique Linen PowderPuff Chalking Ink on a craft mat and used it to paint the ruffles on the bottom of the dress.  I used Java to paint her hair before I trimmed her out and adhered the dress.
I cut the tag from Chiffon 104 and then stenciled the background using Seafoam, Light Moss, and Antique Linen.  The Christmas stamp is from my stash.
Before I adhered the tree to the tag I brushed Seafoam and Green With Envy Ink along the edges.
I stamped and die cut the "meet me under the mistletoe" sentiment...
...and topped the tree with a metal snowflake brad.
To finish things off I added two black rhinestones to the belt on the dress and some washi tape on the bottom left of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie
