My favorite projects are both pretty and practical. Today I am going to share one that I created using Eileen Hull's House/Pocket Stitchlits Die set from Sizzix.
When I first move into a house there are always things that need to be done to make it a home. When you are out and about it is nice to have things like room diagrams and window measurements so that when you find something that looks just perfect you can make sure it actually will work where you think it will!
I started my little mini-album by using the house die to cut heavy weight cardstock, graph paper and kraft paper. I punched the holes with a Crop-O-Dile using the hinges as a guide.
I actually created pockets out of the kraft paper by folding it first, and then die cutting it with the fold just inside the bottom edge of the die. I used Therm-O-Web Supertape to seal the pocket shut!
I also used the Supertape to adhere the hinges to the front and back cover of the mini- album. (The covers were cut from chipboard.)
I played around a bit and added some fun washi tape and windows and doors that were also cut from kraft paper using Eileen's dies. Kind of gives it an industrial "under construction" look, right?
When I put it all together I added a place to hold inspiration photos...
...room diagrams and lists...
...and swatches and paint samples!
You can actually put in complete paint chips and then compare. Shall I go with the blues...
...or the peachy paints?
You can add as many pages and pockets as you need and the uses are limited only by your imagination!
I think this would make a great little gift for a new home owner!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today! Susie
